Love this place! We’ve gone twice and had great experiences both times. Staff is attentive and friendly, they have great different special deals Mon-Sun and they have outdoor and indoor seating. The food came out fast and was very good, the quality of the fish was amazing! The seaweed salad is quite large so great for sharing, the nigiri doesn’t have a ton of rice but a large piece of fish on top and the special rolls are also great to share - we got the 911 and love at first bite and loved both. Definitely recommend coming here and will be back soon!

I visited this place for lunch The food (Salmon+Ikura Donburi) was okay, but their tipping expectations are completely divorced from reality. This place provides nothing more than the bare minimum. They take your order and hand you your dish—that is the entirety of the "service." Yet, when I received the bill, the printed suggested tips started at a staggering 20% and went up to 25%. To be clear, I am not against tipping at all. Tipping is normal when you actually receive a good service. But it takes a lot of nerve for a restaurant with actually no service to feel so entitled. Do they not feel embarrassed suggesting a 25% tip for simply handing a plate over a counter and just take your order? The management should pay their staff a fair wage instead of relying on these shameless, guilt tripping tactics. An extremely off putting experience.

Great quality Japanese Sashimi / Sushi. Very big portion and filling. Mama M Sushi in Pasadena was outstanding! The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The sashimi platter featured high-quality cuts that melted in my mouth, while the specialty rolls, yellowtail carpaccio, and baked mussels were equally delicious and expertly prepared. Every dish looked like a work of art, with thoughtful garnishes and vibrant colors. If you’re looking for fresh seafood, creative dishes, and an elevated sushi experience, Mama M Sushi is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back!

Mama M is always a great place for lunch or dinner, they have specials every day of the week, consistently high-quality in good service for the price!

My friend and I were very impressed with Mama M. At first I thought this was one of those Old Town trendy restaurant with mediocre food. Was I wrong. Our meal was quite tasty. You can tell the chef put thoughts into the making of the food. Flavors were balanced - not overly flavored or spiced and not overly salted. That's important to me because I want to be able to taste the freshness of the food. Not only we enjoyed our meal, we also had a nice time chatting with our friendly server M. We had a dog with us and M even brought a cup of water for him. The whole dining experience was very pleasant. The price is a bit on the higher end; however, I would still recommend this place to friends.
